Transportation

Students getting on school bus

2020-2021 Blake Transportation Services and Rates

Due to COVID-19, transporting students to and from school will be different this year. We have developed a plan to assist as many riders as possible while also meeting COVID-19 guidelines as established by the CDC and MDH. Route specific information will be provided to families no later than Aug. 21.

In order to follow health screening and capacity guidelines, we are unable to provide door-to-door service this year. Students will be able to ride the bus to and from campus at centralized locations around the metro area (see service locations by campus at the links below). Students may ride roundtrip or one-way. Parents are responsible for transporting students to and from their centralized stop.

Blake Campus Centralized Stops
Highcroft Campus Centralized Stops
Northrop Campus Centralized Stops

Afternoon centralized service is available by riding from Northrop to Blake campus via the afternoon shuttle and transferring to a route bus.

Afternoon activity shuttle service transports students among campuses free of charge. Please see the schedule below.

COVID-19 Procedures for Transportation

Reduced capacity: buses will have an approximate capacity reduction of two-thirds with one student per seat, skipping every other row, up to a maximum of 50% capacity.

Health screenings: drivers will meet students at the bus door, take their temperature with a non-contact thermometer and perform a visual health screening prior to the student entering the bus.

Parents will remain at the centralized stop until their child is cleared to load onto the bus.

Parents will help keep their children safe from traffic and socially distanced prior to entering the bus.

Masks on all riders.

Mask, gloves and face shield on driver when conducting health screenings.

Seating: students will be assigned to a specific bus number and specific seat.

Siblings will sit together in the same seat.

Non-siblings cannot share seats

Students will not be allowed to change seats.

Food and beverages will not be allowed on the bus.

Speciality services to Hebrew school, tennis lessons, etc., cannot be supported this year.

Buses will be cleaned and disinfected prior to use.
