Athletic Honors

Blake celebrates excellence in athletics—on the field, on the sidelines and beyond. From the Hall of Fame to our annual coaching and student-athlete awards, these honors reflect nearly three decades of achievement, sportsmanship and leadership across the Blake community.

Hall of Fame
Each year, the school inducts new members into the Blake Athletic Hall of Fame—honoring athletes, coaches and friends of the program whose achievements have brought lasting pride to the Blake community. The Hall of Fame also carries forward the legacy of Blake's Hockey Hall of Fame and 40 alumni honored as Athlete of the Year over three decades.

Pete Parks Coach of the Year
Presented annually to the coach who exhibits both sportsmanship and excellence in coaching, on and off the field, as typified by Pete Parks in his career at Blake (1943–1972).

Jack Fecht Assistant Coach of the Year
Presented annually to the assistant coach who exhibits sportsmanship and excellence in coaching, on and off the field, as demonstrated by Jack Fecht, Blake faculty member and coach (1964-1998).

Unsung Hero Award
Presented to the person who goes well beyond what's expected in support of Blake's athletic program, someone who is willing to go the extra mile, relentless in the pursuit of excellence and quick to lend support.

John R. Hartmann Athletic Trophy
Awarded to two seniors who, because of their athletic prowess and sportsmanship, are voted by varsity coaches and the Athletics Director as the outstanding athletes of the year.

Athena Award
Given to an outstanding senior athlete, voted on by coaches of women's sports for excellence in individual sport or accomplishment in group sports. The Athena Awards ceremony honors athletic leadership among outstanding female seniors across regional high schools.
