From the Head of School
Welcome to the 2017-18 school year and the final year of Excellence Accelerated: The Campaign for Blake. After three years of a foundational phase, we publicly launched the community phase of the campaign last fall. These past four years have shown us the Blake community's tremendous generosity. We have also seen firsthand the wonderfully positive ways in which our students, faculty and facilities have benefited from early campaign support.
Over my 30 years in education, I have learned a school community is a remarkable place. And Blake stands out for me among the numerous school communities of which I have been a part. While Blake's educational program focuses on our children, our students, I have seen the myriad ways in which we all take part in creating their experience and building community. Everyone invests and everyone benefits. We are all part of building Blake's future.
To celebrate this, we are asking alumni, students, teachers, coaches, staff and families to "tag" one person who has had a profound influence on them and their Blake experience. #Blaketag will follow this string of stories and chain of gratitude where it leads us.
Every Blake story is a story of connections — the people who see us, reach us, move us. I'm looking forward to embarking on this final year of Excellence Accelerated with you. I'm thrilled to invest even more deeply in each other and in Blake and realize all that we can become.
