After working in asset management and film in New York and San Francisco, Matt Mithun began his career in real estate, sports and entertainment in the Twin Cities in 2010. He restored and developed what is now the Somerset Amphitheater, which hosts a wide variety of music festivals and concerts, races and community events in Somerset, Wisconsin.

Mithun is part owner of the Minnesota United Football Club and also serves on the board of governors of Major League Soccer. He is currently working on another professional sports venture, the details of which he hopes to share soon.

In 2020, Mithun took over operations of WE Fest, Minnesota’s annual country music festival, which just celebrated its 40th anniversary. His other projects include production of the Stone Arch Bridge Festival and Loring Park Art Festival in Minneapolis as well as Art in Bayfront Park in Duluth. He is an owner of La Doña Cervecería Brewery in Minneapolis. Mithun's real estate holdings are mostly focused in the Midwest, and he is currently developing office, retail and multi-family properties in Wayzata, Excelsior and Mankato.

Mithun’s community involvement includes serving on the boards of 826 MSP, Ridgedale YMCA and YardHomesMN. At Blake, Mithun served as captain on the varsity baseball team and skied on the varsity alpine team for four years. He and his wife, Sarah, are proud parents to three Blake students: Alex ’27, Leo ’28 and Nico ’28. Mithun attended Middlebury College where he studied economics and Spanish. A devoted Bears superfan, Mithun is a familiar face on campus, always cheering on the teams with enthusiasm.
