Miles Fiterman '89

Miles Fiterman '89 is founder and president of Apprize Art, LLC, an independent fine art advisory, appraisal and brokerage firm serving clients throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Miles is frequently sought to consult on issues ranging from identification, authentication, valuation, education, conservation, preservation, transportation, insurance, security, storage, curatorial matters, art handling and display. He regularly performs IRS/fair market value appraisals for charitable donations to museums and institutions of higher learning.

An accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers, Miles also serves on the Midwest Art Conservation Center's board of directors and as a trustee of the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. He is a member of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation's board of directors and the Minneapolis Club's board of governors and has served on a public art committee of the Dormitory Authority of the States of New York and New Jersey.

Miles is the father of three children, Patrick (19), Charles (17), and Rebecca (7), and husband to Amy Fiterman, a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels. The family resides in Golden Valley and includes two Tibetan terriers, Agnes and Martin.

In his Breakfast at Blake presentation, "Under the Gavel: Reflections on the High Stakes and Hijinks of the Global Art Market," Miles explained how an early childhood encounter with an Andy Warhol painting evolved into a lifelong obsession with the value of art.
