As Breakthrough Minneapolis at Blake (BMB) scholars enter ninth grade, their learning at BMB shifts from primarily focusing on their current academic progress to future-focused work related to career planning and college preparation. Every rising ninth grader completes a YouScience career assessment, which provides them details about their natural aptitudes, careers that align to their interests and aptitudes and colleges that would be good fits for them if they decide to follow those career paths.

 

During our Feb. 22 Super Saturday session, we are hoping to put together a mock networking event for our young high schoolers where they can learn about the power of networking in partnership with professionals who work in some of the fields that show up in their assessment reports.
