The LearningWorks community wrapped up the 2021-22 year of TIKKUN (Try It! Keep Kindness Unconditionally Natural) with a bang as we came together on March 12 for our annual spring celebration on the Northrop campus. In true LearningWorks style, there was lots of laughter, silliness and gratitude.

Our keynote speaker was a true crowd pleaser as Blake alumna and multi-year LearningWorks volunteer, teaching fellow and culture champion Addison Anderson ’19 joined via video from her college campus to give students a special shoutout. Click here to see Addison’s remarks.

As is tradition, the eighth graders received their coveted LW hoodies with Class of 2026 proudly emblazoned on the back to celebrate their accomplishment of finishing middle school prepared for their next important step on their educational journey—high school.

Students and teaching faculty were recognized for their commitment, hard work and persistence over a year that was both amazing and challenging. And we were so excited and honored to announce the first cohort of Leaders in Training—seven rising tenth grade LW students who will work as junior staff over the next year.

For those who were not able to join us, we wanted to share a wrap up video created by Adam Ali (Blake ’23), William Anderson (Blake ’23) and Rohan Mittra (Blake ’22) that was shown during the celebration event (click here). Note: there is a short delay at 1:40; keep watching as the video isn’t over.

Special thanks and LW spirit fingers to the teaching faculty, volunteers, staff, community champions and supporters who made this last year possible.
