There's something about Blake that keeps Eva Druskin ʼ15 coming back. After a few years as a Summer at Blake counselor while in college, Eva joined Blake full time this fall as the Middle School office manager. She loves connecting with students and families and, of course, seeing her dad, Joe Druskin '84, Lower School Engineering and Programming teacher, every day.

Q: What is the most important room in your home?
A: My fiance, Dallas, and I bought our first house this past summer. We fell in love with the three-season porch, where we love to curl up and read in the sunshine. It's also our cats' favorite room in the house—go figure!

Q: What did you want to be when you were small?
A: I thought it would be fun to do taxes when I grew up and proudly told my fourth grade class that I was going to be a taxidermist.

Q: What’s the most fun you’ve had this week?
A: I loved planning a menu for our Super Bowl party this past weekend. It was fun to try new recipes and share them with friends while watching the game.

Q: What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
A: My dad, Joe '84, sister, Sadie '17, and I go to a father-daughter concert every year. Stromae and Phoebe Bridgers are two shows we've seen that were really memorable.

Q: What teacher inspired you the most? How?
A: My parents are both teachers. Growing up in their classrooms made school a huge part of my life from an early age, and, ultimately, I knew I wanted to keep working in schools as an adult because of them.

Q: What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?
A: My goal for the past couple years has been to visit Scotland, which I am on track to do on my honeymoon this summer.

Q: What is the most surprising thing about you?
A: My students are always surprised when I speak French with a teacher, parent or other student.

Q: If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?
A: Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton and Timothee Chalamet

Q: What book has influenced you greatly? How?
A: I loved reading “The Awakening” by Kate Chopin in high school. The self-indulgent fairy-tale life the main character, Edna Pontellier, weaves for herself is so dreamy, and then when everything falls apart, the finale is just as unhinged and dramatic as the rest of the story. I try to have occasional "moments of Edna" in my day-to-day life.

Q: What are your three favorite smells?
A: Lilacs blooming in the spring, cold air and mulchy leaves in the fall, and somebody making me dinner in the kitchen.
