Gravediggers Wife film Equity Lab Mizna Arab Film Fest

The Equity Lab invites Blake community members to attend the Mizna Arab Film Festival for its closing night celebration and free outdoor screening of “The Gravedigger’s Wife” by Khadar Ayderus Ahmad on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Moon Palace Books Plaza (3032 Minnehaha Avenue, Minneapolis). 

The outdoor celebration begins at 6:30pm featuring music from Douala Soul Collective and food and wine from festival sponsors Baba’s Hummus and Batroun Wines will be served for a suggested donation. The film screening begins at 7:30pm. Limited seating will be available; it is recommended to bring your own lawn chairs. Entry is free, but registration is required

About the “The Gravedigger’s Wife”
Guled and Nasra live in Djibouti City with their teenage son, Mahad. They are happy, but Nasra urgently needs an expensive surgery to treat a chronic kidney disease. Guled works hard as a gravedigger to make ends meet, but he’s not sure how they will find the money to keep the family together.
