On Friday, April 18, all students, faculty, staff and volunteers will gather to celebrate Legacy Day. Legacy groups, which met during Convocation this past fall, will reunite from 8:45am to noon on the Blake campus to participate in service projects and other community-building activities. The theme is Growing and Giving Gratitude.
This year’s service projects will benefit Appetite for Change, a nonprofit organization that uses food as a tool to build health, wealth and social change in North Minneapolis. Green (grades 4, 8 and 12), Brown (grades 3, 7 and 11), and White (grades 2, 6, and 10) Legacy groups will be building planter boxes that were designed by Upper School engineering students; Blue (grades Pre-K, K, 1, 5 and 9) Legacy groups will be planting seeds and making plant markers. The plants, plant markers and planter boxes will be part of an Appetite for Change distribution event on Saturday, May 17.
Students, faculty and staff can find more information on the Legacy Day website (must have a Blake email address to access). Interested in volunteering? Learn about and register for various opportunities.
