Blake Commencement 2020 seniors class of 2020

Celebrate the Blake class of 2020! The class of 2020 commencement ceremony will air on Thursday, May 28 at 6:30pm CDT on the NFHS Network, an online streaming platform used by schools across the country. Our intention is to create a sense of togetherness by having our community experience the ceremony at the same time.

The following FAQ addresses the logistics of accessing and viewing the ceremony. Contact communications@blakeschool.org with additional questions. Congratulations, graduates!

Can I watch on my laptop, mobile device or tablet device?
Yes, if you have internet access with bandwidth for video streaming, you can watch by following this link: blake.mn/blake2020. Please note that the NFHS platform is optimized for Chrome and Safari browsers. You do not need to download the NFHS app to watch. If you click now and can see the Blake page with the text: “Scheduled For May 28, 2020 | 6:30 PM CDT, in Hopkins, MN” you will be able to watch.

Can I watch on TV?
There are a few options you can try if you want to watch on TV:

  • Plug an HDMI cable directly from your computer or laptop to mirror or extend its display on your TV.
  • If you have a Chromecast, you can cast a Google Chrome tab from your computer to your TV.
  • If you have an Apple TV you can select Screen Mirroring from your iPhone or iPad to mirror your screen through the Apple TV.

Do I need to be in Minneapolis or Minnesota to watch?
You can tune in from anywhere, near or far.

Is there a limit to how many people can watch?
No, there’s no limit to viewers. Please feel free to invite family and friends by sending them the link: blake.mn/blake2020.

How long is the ceremony?
About an hour and 20 minutes

What’s in the ceremony?
The ceremony includes pre-recorded speeches, musical performances, a presentation of diplomas and photo memories of the class of 2020. All elements of the ceremony were created with safe social distancing. You can view a ceremony program here, which includes senior names, the order of ceremony exercises and lyrics to the Blake alma mater. 

What if I miss the ceremony or want to watch it again?
After the ceremony airs on May 28, it will be permanently added to Blake’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/user/TheBlakeSchool. It will also be offered on-demand for the next month on the NFHS Network at this link
