A newly created Blake Athletic Hall of Fame will highlight the accomplishments of alumni, coaches and friends and celebrate the school’s sports history.
New inductees will be honored annually, with an inaugural event planned for fall 2020. The new Blake Athletic Hall of Fame will include current members of the school’s Hockey Hall of Fame as well as past recipients of the Alumni Athlete of the Year award, 40 alumni spanning multiple sports and 30 years.
The hall of fame committee seeks nominations for inductees. Nominations can be made on behalf of others or be self-nominated. Nominees (either living or deceased) must meet the qualifications in one or more of the following categories.

  1. A former Blake athlete who performed with excellence, lettered in a varsity sport and demonstrated leadership and character. Must be a Blake graduate and out of the Upper School for at least eight years.
  2. Former coaches who have distinguished themselves through exceptional leadership, character and athletic achievement during their time at Blake.
  3. Loyal and devoted supporters of Blake athletics. Open to Bears fans, volunteers, community partners and friends.

Nominations for 2020 can be submitted here through Dec. 31. The committee, comprised of Blake administrators, alumni and community partners, will vote to induct up to four individuals annually. Nominees not selected for awards will remain on the selection list for ten years. Recipients will be announced in February.

Photos and information about each hall of fame member will be displayed in a designated area on Blake’s campus in Hopkins.
