LearningWorks Mentor Teacher Instructional Coach

LearningWorks is looking for experienced middle and high school teachers to serve as mentors by working directly with the program’s summer teaching fellows. LearningWorks instructional coaches (ICs) provide continuous support and guidance in unit and lesson planning, classroom environment and best instructional practices.

ICs will work approximately 25 hours a week during programming (June 28-July 30, 2021) to support teaching fellows as they develop their curriculum plans and learn skills to lead child-centered and culturally responsive classes. They will also participate in portions of the teaching fellow orientation (June 7-25, 2021). Preferably, ICs will be on site at the Northrop campus as they work with teaching fellows, but LearningWorks is open to creating schedules that have a mix of in-person and virtual support.

Key areas of focus where ICs are needed include:

Literature department
Explorations (i.e., electives)
Leadership Academy (focus on transition to high school, career exposure, job skills and writing)
Social and emotional learning
