Jon Friedell '85, P'24, P'28, an avid biker and music lover, lives in Minnetonka with his wife, Jada, two sons, Jackson and Maxwell, and head of the household, Oscar, their 3-year-old Maltese poodle. Jon recently began his new role as Blake’s director of alumni and parent engagement.

Q: What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?  
A: Stevie Wonder in 2018 during his Songs in the Key of Life tour. What a talent and an icon!

Q: What's your favorite family tradition?  
A: Sunday dinner with my immediate family. Included are my mother, two older brothers, nieces, sister-in-law, wife and two sons. It does not get any better than that.

Q: If you had one extra hour of free time a day, how would you spend it?  
A: Riding my mountain bike with my biking friends.

Q: What is the most surprising thing about you?  
A: I have been to over 100 Grateful Dead shows.

Q: If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be?  
A: Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Johnny Cash and Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead).

Q: I was once mistaken for…  
A: Ben Stiller. When we were both a bit younger, people said I looked like him.

Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?  
A: Alaska. I am told the views and landscape are amazing.

Q: What’s the most fun you’ve had this week?  
A: Watching the newly released Prince concert from 1985. He was one of a kind.

Q: Do you collect anything?  
A: Concert tickets that I have attended. I sure wish I had started with my first show when I was 13.

Q: If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?  
A: Sugar.
