Door-to-Door
Door service is our most premium service where route buses will navigate as close to your door step as possible to pick up your child. This service is available roundtrip or on a one way basis. Before assigning the pickup to a route a member of the transportation team will examine your specific pick up location to determine whether it can be completed safely and legally. This is especially important if you live on a private driveway, cul-de-sac or other non-thruway street. In all situations, The Blake School reserves the right to move the pickup from your door step to the nearest safe location, if necessary, while still striving to provide your child with the most convenient service possible. Whenever possible, The Blake School will provide advanced warning if your child’s home stop has to be moved due to road construction, inclement weather or other issues.
Children picked up at home will be provided a scheduled pick up time. This will be communicated a couple weeks prior to the start of the school year. Children are expected to be ready and waiting for the bus five minutes before this scheduled time. Route drivers are instructed to move onto the next stop if the student is not ready to be picked up by the scheduled time>
Students who purchase door-to-door service may be picked up or dropped off at additional locations at no additional charge. This includes all of Blake’s shuttle locations. (See below) Please contact the Transportation Office to have us set up a new pick up or drop location. A schedule of service needs to be provided to the Transportation Office before we’ll begin routing to the second pick up location
Attention Upper School students: Door-to-door bus service is not available to or from the Northrop Minneapolis campus. Please review the shuttle pick up locations in the Northrop section below for transportation options in the AM. In the PM, Upper School students will be bused to our Hopkins campus where they may ride to a shuttle drop location or be transported all the way home.
Shuttle
Shuttle service involves picking up Blake students at centralized pick up locations. This service is designed to be a less expensive, more efficient (shorter bus ride) alternative to door step service. Like door-to-door service, students may ride roundtrip or only purchase one way service only. The shuttle stop will also be assigned a specific pick up time. Parents of shuttle riding students are responsible for transporting the student to and from the shuttle point. In the AM have your child to the assigned pick up location at least five minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. By purchasing shuttle service, all of our centralized pick up/ drop off locations available based on the campus your child is attending. See below for the available locations for each campus. Note: our centralized shuttle service may not be direct. All of our centralized stops are combined on routes with door stops. While we will strive to make our centralized stops late on morning routes, stops may occur after these pickups.

Noon Kindergarten Service
Noon bus service is available to kindergarten students on Fridays. Service is provided all the way to your doorstep whenever possible. This service is at no additional charge if the student is already signed up for afternoon bus service Monday through Thursday. A $415 charge is assessed if this is purchased as a standalone service.
Activity Transportation
3:00pm NC activity buses:
At the end of the Upper School day, the Transportation Office provides shuttle bus service from Northrop to the Hopkins Blake Campus. This service is available to all Upper School students and is at no charge. Students without their own cars are strongly urged to utilize this school-provided shuttle bus service rather than ride in cars driven by other students.
5:45pm activity shuttles:
Two shuttles leave from the Blake Hopkins Campus each evening. One travels to the Highcroft Campus, the other to the Northrop Campus. These buses pick up students in the Stadium Lot and in the main front circle drive. Students are dropped in the back of Highcroft off of Peavey Lane and in the main west parking lot of Northrop.
6:45pm activity shuttle:
One shuttle departs from the main front circle of the Blake Hopkins Campus for the Northrop Campus.
All Upper School students may ride either the 5:45pm or 6:45pm shuttle back to the Northrop Campus at no charge. All Middle School riders and all service to Highcroft at 5:45pm is fee based. The fees are based on each activity season – which is $300.
