    Step 3: At the end of Blake Classic Volunteer Opportunties, click on "Return to Tabs." Use tabs to access the all school and division forms. Volunteer for a job by clicking on the button () next to job title. Please check job description for information you may be asked to provide.

    Step 4: At the end of each Volunteer Opportunties section, click on "Return to Tabs." Use division tabs to access another division form or "Submit" tab to submit form for processing by Parent Association. This tab also displays a "Clear Form" button that deletes information you have entered on the form.

    ALL SCHOOL VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

    BOOSTER CLUB

    Special Events Helper: Work at concessions and/or Bearwear booths at the holiday hockey tournament, home sporting events, Olympic Days or other special events. A fun and easy one-time commitment.
    Bearwear Sales: Help with the sale of Blake logo items at one or more of the following events: holiday alumni reception, conferences and June reunion.
    Booster Store Sales: Sell Bearwear items in the Booster Store at the Middle School on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00. Additional hours may be added.

    ADMISSIONS

    Admission Open Houses and Informational Events for Prospective Families: Volunteer opportunities during these events include greeting, registration, and touring. The Admissions Office will call volunteers to schedule prior to a scheduled event.

    This is an evening event held at the Upper School.
            Wednesday, January 13, 2010: PK-8 Admissions Information Meeting
    This is an evening event held on the Blake Campus.

    BLAKE CONNECTIONS (US Off-Campus Student Intern Program)

    The Blake School presently offers Upper School students an opportunity to explore interesting professions by engaging in single day, weeklong or longer informational internships hosted by Blake parents, alums and friends. The timing of these opportunities/connections can be during the academic year or summer.     LOWER SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

    STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

    Ice Skating Party/Winterfest: Help set up, chaperone and clean up this K-5 winter event from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
            Blake Campus: Tuesday, February 2, 2010
            Highcroft Campus: Tuesday, January 26, 2010
    Bingo Night (grades 3-5): Help set up, serve food and clean up during this evening event from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
            Blake Campus: Thursday, March 18 2010
            Highcroft Campus: Tuesday, March 6, 2010
    Pancake Breakfast (grades K-2): Work with co-chairs to help set-up, serve food and clean up during the parent/child pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. Blake and Highcroft Campuses: Friday, April 16, 2010
    5th Grade Graduation Party Volunteer: Help with the party for 5th grade students immediately following the Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
    Lunchroom Volunteer: Assist faculty in supervising students during lunch. Typically requires commitment to assist at one lunch period per month.

    FACULTY & STAFF APPRECIATION

    Faculty & Staff Treats: Provide a treat for the staff lounge one day during the school year.
    Faculty & Staff Birthdays: Post birthday signs and deliver birthday card and small treat to the faculty &/or staff on their birthday. Signs and cards are provided by the Parent Association. Please indicate if you have a preferred member of the faculty or staff:
    Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon: Help with faculty and staff appreciation luncheon in the spring
    Provide a salad or dessert for the luncheon
    Set up and clean up for the luncheon

    BLAKE CAMPUS ONLY

    Book Arts Volunteer: Work one shift every other week during the school year helping students create their own books. Please indicate day of week preference:
    Media Center Volunteer: Work one 2-3 hour shift, either morning or afternoon, every other week. Assist classrooms checking out books, help individuals find books, assist with book care and processing as needed and shelve lots and lots of books.

    HIGHCROFT CAMPUS ONLY

    May Fest: Work with students on a campus cleanup and beautification project on Tuesday, May 18th from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
    MEDIA CENTER: Please check all areas of interest listed below.
    End of Year Inventory: Help scan barcodes. One morning toward the end of the year.
    End of Year Book Exchange: Assist with the annual end-of-year student book exchange.

    MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPOORTUNITIES

    Chaperone: Join other parents as a chaperone at a grade level or all-grade middle school recreational or social event.
            6th grade dance lesson on January 29th
            6th grade dance lesson on February 19th
            7th & 8th grade dance on January 22nd
            7th & 8th grade dance on April 9th
            Middle school dance on May 7th
            7th & 8th grade spring picnic in early May
            Winter service learning activities
            Spring service learning activities
    Ski/Snowboard Day Chaperone: Join other parents chaperoning students at the annual ski/snowboard day, Friday, February 12, 2010. This is an all day event. You don't have to be a skier to be involved.
    Spring Fling: Assist Spring Fling Chair with event set-up, distribution of Dairy Queen Dilly Bars and clean-up on Friday, May 28, 2010.
    Family Service Days: Assist with planning and/or coordinating activities for Family Service outings. The events may occur on weekends and/or weekdays.
    Faculty and Staff Appreciation Treats: Provide treats for the staff lounge.
    Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon: Provide a food item for the faculty lunch, which will be held on June 4th.
    Eighth Grade Party Committee: Help plan the eighth grade graduation party.

    UPPER SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPOORTUNITIES

    Community of Concern (C.O.C.): Support Blake families by sharing educational information and fostering communication among parents to help prevent and reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs by Blake students.
    Arrange dates and locations for "Coffee Talks".
    Assist COC chairs with parent educational events in the winter or spring.
    Faculty/Staff Treats: Provide treats in the faculty lounge one day during the school year.
    Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event: Help with the faculty/staff appreciation event at the end of the school year.
    Community Service Driver: Transport students to community service assignments.
    Upper School Fundraising Assistance: Support Jamba Juice and help develop new Upper School fundraising activity or event.
    Assist Science Department Liaisons and Faculty Lab Assistants: Clean labs, wash glassware, help set up and dismantle experiments. Time commitment: about 1 hour per month. Training is provided.
    Dissection Assistants: Help with anatomy class dissections as needed, and/or 9th grade pig dissection in spring. Time commitment: about 1 hour per dissection.
    Science Experts: Share scientific expertise by speaking to classes and/or allowing students to interview, or "shadow" at work, or view on-site scientific demonstrations. Time commitment varies.
    All-Night Senior Graduation Party: Help the day/evening of the all-night Graduation Party for Seniors, which is held after the graduation ceremony in June.
