The Blake Classic is a wonderful opportunity for parents, alumni, faculty and staff to come together for an evening of camaraderie and fundraising. Proceeds from the Classic help fund many important needs in Blake’s academic, athletic and arts programs, which further enhance the educational experience for all children at Blake. Funds are also used to support the work of the very active Parent Association, which advances the mission and core values of Blake through a wide variety of activities and events.
The Hilton Minneapolis – New Racetrack
In an effort to maximize our fundraising dollars and expand the seating capacity for the Blake community, the 13th Blake Classic will be held at the dazzling downtown Hilton Minneapolis!
The Online Auction Showcases Hundreds of Must Have – and Wanna Give – Items!
The online auction will be open for preview beginning April 13. The blakederbyclassic.maestro.com auction website is very easy to navigate. You will be amazed at the fabulous array of items offered. Also, check out our newest auction category: Faculty Wish List, where you can make a classroom dream come true! Continuous bidding will be available April 27–May 4.
BlakeStakes – Win One-Year Free Tuition!
One of our most popular traditions, BlakeStakes is a raffle for one year of free tuition and is a very important part of our fundraising effort. Tickets will be sold through April 30 as well as the evening of the event. You do not need to be present to win.
Fund-A-Need Needs You!
Financial aid at Blake provides many students the means to attend our school. But there are numerous extra expenses still needed for academic support, the arts, sports and other extra-curricular activities that benefit our children. Fund-A-Need bridges that gap. Examples of activities made possible with past Classic Fund-A-Need dollars include tutoring, AP exam fees, prom tickets, Middle School Ski and Snowboard Day, after-school enrichment activities, Extended Day and Blake Summer Programs. Please consider making a pledge to this important cause, whether you are able to attend the gala or not.

Look for your invitations in early March and R.S.V.P. right away as tables fill up quickly! Whether you make a table of 10 with friends or prefer to be surprised, send in your registration card or register online to reserve your spot.
Tribute “Tweet” Ads
Send in your Tribute “Tweet” (think classified ad) along with your invitation registration card and, in a 140 characters or less, congratulate your graduating senior, thank our fearless leader of 14 years, John Gulla, or extend a warm welcome to Anne Stavney, our new Head of School. Your tributes ($25 each) will appear on The Derby Classic website and in the Classic’s evening program.
Live Auction
A spectacular lineup of items will be auctioned off live at the event. Here’s a hint: “Driving through Germany in a Mercedes … ”
