Can the School Year Really Be Half Over?
The Parent Association Nominating Committee met in December to start the work of recruiting new leadership. If you receive a call, please consider one of these vital positions. Also, please look for the 2012–13 Parent Association Leadership and Volunteer Form (sent via Bear Essentials) for a large variety of volunteer leadership opportunities. Most of the positions offered at this time are for leadership or chair jobs. We have tried to offer many options to accommodate everyone’s talents and time. Positions offered include one-day events such as the pancake breakfast to a year-long commitment as a grade/room representative and everything in between. There will also be non-leadership positions available for the upcoming Derby Classic on this form as well.
The Derby Classic committee, led by Susan Hitchner-Fluke and Lisa Rotenberg, has been working since last May to bring us this wonderful biennial all-school fundraiser. Now they need you! On the website you can find out about volunteer opportunities (also listed on the online form here) or how to donate an auction item (auction info here), and best of all, you can see a photo of our fearless “jockey” in uniform on a horse.
