When I joined, I expected the adults to lead the team in planning and problem solving. Instead, the students designed the robot and solved the problems that arose, together.

    LearningWorks founders John Gulla and Amie DeHarpporte be the keynote speakers at this year's LW graduation on Saturday, March 10., 10:30-11:45 a.m. on the Northrop campus. Their dual address will mark the last time the program's original architects share the stage before they both end their long tenure at Blake. This event is open to all Blake community members.   • New Athletic Director, Familiar Face

    Blake's Athletic Director Search Committee looked far and wide, but in the end the ideal candidate had been here all along. Nick Rathmann, a teacher and multi-sport coach at Blake, will be the school’s next athletic director. He will assume his new role on July 1, as current Athletic Director Jim Lindsay steps down.   • Blake Welcomes New Advancement Director

    Blake has named Chris Clark as the next director of the Office of Institutional Advancement. He will begin his work with the school on April 9. Chris comes to Blake from Carleton College, where he has worked in the development office for 13 years, most recently as the executive director of Carleton’s alumni annual fund and parent giving.   • Be a Part of the 2012-13 Parent News Team

    Looking for a fun and interesting way to be more involved in the Blake community? Please consider joining the Parent News publication team. Parent News is published by the Parent Association in partnership with Blake's Communications Office. We are looking for a new editor for next year, as well as writers, proofreaders and a new editor for next year. The editor’s responsibilities include soliciting, compiling, editing and proofreading submissions. You will receive invaluable support from the Blake Communications Office. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and use of email is required, but the School handles the layout and all publishing details.

    If you have a good sense of humor and a keen interest in all things Blake, the editor’s position may be for you. Give it a try!
