Significant complications in the mechanical and plumbing work at the Upper School have required the shutdown of the building’s fire safety system. As a result there can be no classes or activities held at the Northrop Campus on Thursday, Oct 27, 2016.
Late bus service will run on schedule to Northrop on Thursday.
Students should continue to consult Canvas course pages for instructions and assignments from teachers, which will be posted by 10 a.m. tomorrow. Given the capabilities that Canvas offers for communication between faculty and students, we determined that the costs of a physical relocation of classes outweigh the benefits.
We anticipate that the building will be open for Friday classes and activities. Should this situation change, we will notify you on Thursday.
We understand that our community relies on predictable and consistent scheduling of our academic and cocurricular programs. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond Blake’s control have required this closure. We continue to work around the clock with contractors and community resources to resolve this situation as soon as possible.
Tuition & Affordability
We believe all qualified students should have access to the unique educational opportunities at Blake.
Our students have extraordinary educational opportunities. We recognize that, although it is an excellent investment in your child's future, a Blake education represents an expense that may be beyond some families' reach. That's why we are committed to ensuring Blake is affordable for qualified students. Approximately 21 percent of our students receive need-based tuition assistance.
See Tuition & Fees, below, for details about tuition and fees within each division. Visit our Tuition Assistance page for information about financial assistance.

Tuition & Fees
Please note that standard amounts listed for each division include tuition and lunch costs. For an additional fee, we provide the following optional services: afternoon pre-kindergarten, Friday afternoon kindergarten, and extended-day care (pre-kindergarten through grade five). Families who receive financial assistance may be able to receive assistance for these additional costs.
Families who receive financial assistance may be able to receive assistance for transportation too. Busing and shuttle services are also available for an additional fee. Go here for more details, contact Brian Houghton at 952-988-3457, or email email@example.com.
As you contemplate Blake's tuition and fee structure, we hope you'll consider the value of investing in an outstanding education. We welcome the opportunity to partner with you to make this belief a reality. Please call 952-988-3424 and ask to speak to our Associate Director of Financial Assistance today.
It's important to note that all of our financial assistance awards are based on demonstrated need — the calculated difference between the amount a family can be expected to contribute to the cost of their student's education and the amount of annual tuition, books and fees.
