Marit Wangstad '08 closes college swimming career with 13 All-America Honors
Marit Wangstad ’08, a senior at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, helped the Big Red swimmers to their fifth straight top-three finish at the NCAA Division III National Swim & Dive Championships held March 21-24 in Indianapolis. Earning second place in the 200 freestyle relay, third place in the 400 freestyle relay and a top 16 performance in the 100 freestyle brought her All-America honors total to 13.
The NCAA meet followed Denison's fourth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving championship, at which Wangstad swam on the champion 200-freestyle relay, second-place 400-medley relay and took second place in the 100 free as well as top-eight finishes in the 50 free and 200 free individual events.
She anchored the final event of the meet – the second-place 400-freestyle relay – which edged rival Kenyon College for the conference championship.
