Knowledge Bowl Successful at All-Metro Championship

The Blake Middle School Knowledge Bowl Team, coached by Middle School teacher Gary Nash, competed at the Minnesota ECSU, ”Success Beyond the Classroom,” all-metro championship meet in January. Three Blake squads participated among 46 teams from 13 schools. After one written round of questions and three oral rounds of head-to-head competition, the Blake Bears team claimed the third-place trophy. In addition, the Blake team won the overall first-place trophy for the mathematics portion of the competition.

Knowledge Bowl is an interdisciplinary academic competition that promotes academic excellence and tests students’ recall and problem solving abilities, critical thinking and teamwork skills. Points are earned by answering questions in math, science, history, geography, literature, and grammar.
