Blake Offers First-ever Travel Program to China




The Blake School is partnering with Alterra Global Education Initiatives to offer this inaugural travel-education program to China. The trip, which is scheduled for spring break, March 15-26, 2008, is designed for Blake students, families, faculty, administrators, alumni and friends in an effort to deepen our collective understanding of the Chinese culture. The trip will balance tourism with study and service as we visit Beijing, Shanghai and Chongming Island and Xian. Learn more about the specific itinerary, the leadership and other details.
  • The cost for the trip is $4,600-5,000 per person (limited financial aid is available for students), depending on the number of participants, and includes:
    • airfare from Minneapolis, including all taxes and fees;
    • international-class hotel accommodation;
    • three meals daily, with breakfasts and dinners taken at the hotel;
    • international-class ground transport until 5 p.m. daily;
    • local guiding services and miscellaneous entrance fees.

  • Maximum enrollment = 40; minimum enrollment = 20
  • Deadline for registration with its down payment of $1,500 is Friday, June 22, 2007. Information on additional payment deadlines, travel insurance, etc. will follow.
  • Please note that a visa is required for travel to China.
