This October, The Blake School earned its official designation as an International Peace Site. World Citizen, Inc. founder Lynn Elling presented four Blake Lower School students and administrator Sherry Faubion with a plaque commemorating the honor during this year's Convocation ceremony. As a designated Peace Site, an organization commits to five principles: 1) protecting the environment, 2) promoting intercultural understanding and celebrating diversity, 3) seeking peace within ourselves and others, 4) reaching out in service, and 5) being responsible world citizens.

Each of Blake's three campuses will display a flag of the earth, a plaque and a peace pole with the words "May peace prevail on earth" in four languages to convey the School's dedication to world peace.
