Celebration of Gratitude Remarks
by Alexandra, Highcroft Fifth Grade Student
September 28, 2006

I love the new building!

The new spaces are so unique and modern, kind of like our teachers and all the students at Blake.

The entrance tells you right away this is not a boring school. It's a school that's lively and welcoming.

The new art room has lots of natural light and, when you look around the room, it makes you feel like you are truly an artist.

Going down to the drama room, now. Wow, a new stage and more space. It makes you flow into the zone or life of an actor.

The biggest change was in the music room. It's bigger, it's happier and it even sounds better.

Two words for the computer room: technologically cool.

Pre-K: It's so awesome. I'd even consider starting Blake all over again.

And all this put together helps us explore, create, and reach for new opportunities as students. I would like to end by thanking all who made this happen, especially, you, Jim Dayton, a former Highcroft student and now, a star architect.
