Blake Takes Second in State Class A
Challenge Cup Rankings

The Blake School placed second in the 2005-06 Minnesota State High School League's Challenge Cup competition, falling by a narrow margin to St. Cloud Cathedral. Blake, last year's Challenge Cup champion, earned 490 points to St. Cloud Cathedral's 505.7 points. The Challenge Cup is a statewide, yearlong competition among league member schools. Schools receive points in both athletic and fine arts activities based upon the results of post-season tournament play. The two schools (one Class A and one Class AA) that earn the most points at the end of the year are awarded a traveling crystal Challenge Cup along with a replica for each school's permanent display. Blake earned points in 14 different activities including boys' and girls' Alpine skiing, boys' and girls' cross-country running, girls' golf, boys' hockey, boys' and girls' Nordic ski racing, speech, boys' and girls' swimming and diving, boys' and girls' tennis, and girls' track and field.
