Ash Planter (Black and White Silver Print)
I chose to photograph this object for its simplicity in form. It is not much more than a large ashtray, but it serves as a counterbalance to the establishment outside of which it stands. I enjoyed photographing something so common and unnoticed such as this cement cylinder. Though bits of architecture such as this are passed by and disregarded everyday, I realized that the entrance to the establishment would have looked naked without it.
