  • Blake Teachers Construct Modern Knowledge

    Lizz Buchanan (Upper School teacher librarian), Beth Calderone (Upper School social studies) and Dan Trockman (assistant ISS director and Upper School science) attended the Constructing Modern Knowledge conference in July. They engaged in a project, almost accidentally, that led unforeseen learning adventures and rich insights across multiple disciplines. Read about their collaborative project (and see photos) here.

Oh the Places They Go: Blake teachers travel the world

  • Around the world with Blake's faculty

    Every year at Blake, teachers of social studies demonstrate their love of learning by traveling to places around the world to explore culture, language, history and geography. Through generous funding from the Hersey and Donaldson Sabbaticals, Plank Fund for Teachers, International Programs, leaves for teaching abroad, and grants from the Lyon family, teachers of social studies have explored multiple places across six continents just in the last five years alone!
