From Advancement
Just Calling to Say "Thanks!"


On a warm spring evening in April, a group of enthusiastic students arrived at the School's Advancement Office after a long day of classes and after-school activities to make phone calls to Blake alumni. Their message was a simple one: thank you!

The student callers were all members of the Student Inter-Action Committee (SIAC), an extra-curricular student leadership group comprised of select Upper School students chosen for their peer leadership skills. Throughout the year they provide service to the community and participate in team-building activities.

In just a few hours, the student callers had contacted nearly 400 alumni to thank them for giving to The Blake School Annual Fund. Alumni were surprised and pleased to have the opportunity to connect with a current Blake student. At Blake, alumni (including parents who are also alumni) usually give 40 to 45 percent of total Annual Fund dollars. Alumni support is essential and appreciated!
