Lacrosse: Girls Varsity

Team Info

Coach: Laura Mark

We are especially proud to have one of the longest running girls’ lacrosse programs in the state of Minnesota. Blake was among the earliest to adopt the sport at the varsity level and among the first group of teams to become members of the Minnesota State High School League.

Blake girls' lacrosse has developed a program built on the foundation of teamwork, sportsmanship and attention to fundamentals, conditioning and hard work. The girls' lacrosse program is one of the most sucessful in the state, having won three of the past five state championships in the sport - 2008, 2010, 2011. Last year Blake became the first team in Minnesota State High School history to record back-to-back state championship victories, finishing with a final record of 16-0. Blake was also recently ranked as the #3 girls' lacrosse team in the Midwest by US Lacrosse magazine. Blake players have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels as well as compete and contribute to club programs at many colleges and universities.

At Blake, there is a place for everyone interested in playing lacrosse. We have three teams, the youngest of which is our Middle School team, consisting of 7th and 8th grade players. The Middle School team practices daily and competes in a 12 game schedule with a 3 game tournament at the end of the season. For Upper School students, we offer a junior varsity and varsity team. Players at the junior varsity level practice daily and play a schedule similar to that of the varsity with the exception of not having a playoff. The varsity roster typically consists of anywhere between 16-20 girls and plays a 12 game regular season schedule as well as section and state playoffs.
