Lacrosse: Boys Varsity

Team Info

Coach: Rob Horn

We are particularly proud to have established ourselves as one of the premier boy’s lacrosse programs in the state of Minnesota. The Blake School won back to back MBSLA state titles in 2005 and 2006, and has had two other appearances in the championship game. Among other notable highlights, was a 32-0 unbeaten streak during the 2004-2006 campaigns, as well as producing five National H.S. All-America selections.

Our lacrosse program is in part, designed to promote enthusiasm for the sport and desire among the players to strive for excellence. We place great emphasis on the importance of team building, unselfish play, and striving for continued improvement. We ask our players to consider their commitment first and most importantly to their teammates. We also expect the highest level of sportsmanship from our athletes, and will conduct ourselves with class on and off of the field. Our goal maintains teaching lacrosse within a fun environment to provide players with the knowledge to be successful on the field in the future.

The Blake Boys’ Lacrosse Program consists of a Varsity, Junior Varsity and a Middle School team. Each level of the program is open to all interested students, which hold daily practices and full game schedules. Our Varsity and JV schedules are comprised of in-conference, and out of conference opponents. We play within the most competitive conference, the Independent School Conference, which consists of two games against each of some of the state's strongest programs. Outside of the required conference schedule we will play a challenging schedule of 4 to 5 games from the state’s top competition. As a staff, we believe that not only does a demanding schedule allow for growth from a student athlete during participation on the field, but it also allows for the players own self discovery when met with the task of overcoming adversity.
