2005 Softball Preview

The girls' softball team is geared up for an exciting 2005 season. The Bears were 11-7 last year, coming off their most impressive season in recent memory. Leading the Bears this year will be senior co-captains Susie Lipinski, a 2004 All-Conference selection, and centerfielder Lisa Perkins.

The Bears are stacked with veteran players returning to the diamond, including All-Conference junior pitcher Alyssa Saunders.

On defense, returning sophomore Laura Waldman will move from first base to shortstop and All-Conference junior third baseman Michael Johnson returns to guard the hot corner.

On offense, returning players Maria Pyle, Katherine Rodman, and Emily Johnson will continue to add extra punch to the Bears dominating lineup. Also, look for newcomers Beth Davis, Myriah Rodgers, and Mary Allen to make significant contributions to this year's success on the field.

Head coach Clara Just is in her fourth year with the Bears. Adam Vatter, Frank Gascich, and Nat Wagner are the Blake assistant coaches.
