John Shelp - Head Coach
John Shelp is a Lower School physical education teacher and is in his fourth season of coaching for the Bears. Prior to Blake he coached several activities including track, cross-country, gymnastics and even football for the Glencoe-Silver Lake School District from 1997-2001. When not teaching or coaching he enjoys triathloning. Shelp participated in the 2004 Ironman Triathlon World Championships held on October 16th in Kileau-Kona, Hawaii. Coach Shelp also enjoys skiing in his own races including the Birkie.
Keith Clark - Assistant Coach
Keith has over 15 years of experience as a coach for athletes of all ages. Most recently he has coached as an assistant on the Blake School track and field team and cross-country team. In the last five years, he has coached soccer, basketball, and baseball at the youth level, as well as a distance running coach for a local running club. Keith brings his business background into coaching, as he is recognized as one of the top business strategy consultants and speakers, emphasizing positive energy, aggressive but realistic goal setting, and having fun at the workplace. Keith holds a Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
