With over seventy percent of our Middle School student athletes participating in after school sports, this fall was both busy and electric. Although the bulk of our teams enjoyed winning seasons, there were plenty more rewards than the record books could expect to capture. Our students challenged themselves in limitless ways from trying something for the first time for some, to dealing with leadership roles and adversity for others. Our teams worked at perfecting their ability to juggle school work, team work and the often complex ocean of team dynamics. Through it all, the season was a great victory, where confidence was found, obstacles were overcome, and much enjoyment was had by all.
It's amazing! For the past three falls the Middle School has celebrated the close of the autumn athletic season with a tournament that we call Championship Saturday. It's always held on the last Saturday of the month of October, and each year thus far we have been blessed with the most gorgeous weather! The Blake campus was lit up with bright sunshine, soaring blue and green flags and loads of school spirit. All fields were overflowing with boys and girls soccer and football teams and this year we added volleyball and tennis tournaments to the mix. The Blake Bear even stayed for the day!
A tremendous 'thank you' to all of the administrators, coaches, players and parents who helped make this fall season a success.
GO BEARS!!!
