The Blake School girls' lacrosse team made life miserable for two Classic Lake Conference teams last week, beating Hopkins on Thursday, April 19 and Wayzata on Saturday, April 20.
In the April 20 home win, the Bears took a comfortable lead at the half and coasted to a 16-5 win over Wayzata.
Emily Moos, a second-team all-state midfielder last year as a sophomore, scored five goals for the winners. Michelle Tremblay added four goals and Margaret Chute three. Sally Komarek finished with two goals while Jillian Avery and senior co-captain Julia Heffelfinger each scored once.
Tremblay finished with a six-point day, adding two assists. Sophomore goalie Abby Fink stopped five shots in gaining the win in goal.
"We took a big lead early and didn't let up in our scoring in the second half," Heffelfinger said after the game. "We're playing well as a team right now and have good chemistry. Against Wayzata, our passing was really on."
The Bears opened last week with a 12-2 win over Hopkins on Thursday, April 19. Chute led the Blake offense with four goals, while Tremblay added three goals and one assist. Senior forward Katharine Chute scored twice and Heffelfinger recorded a goal and an assist.
