The Bears ended another banner year with a runner-up finish at the state tournament.
Blake hosted its quarterfinal match with Mahtomedi and moved on to the final four by beating the Zephyrs 9-3.
In the semis, Blake continued its hot play, edging St. Louis Park 10-8. In the final, which was a rematch of last year’s state final, Eden Prairie won its second consecutive state title, beating Blake 11-4.
Libby Murphy, Laura Vincent and Kendall Boyd all earned First Team All-State honors. Charlotte Hitch was named to the All-State Second Team and Maggie Rogers was All-State Honorable Mention.
Murphy finished second in the state in scoring with 43 points. Hitch was fifth with 37.
Boyd grabbed the sports most prestigious honor. The senior defender was named the MSHSL Player of the Year.
Blake finished the season with a 12-3-1 record.
