The Blake School Class A Girls' Hockey Athletes Named To Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team

MINNEAPOLIS - Feb. 26, 2007 - Wells Fargo, the premier corporate sponsor of the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL), today announced that Katherine Chute, Margaret Chute and Rachel Bowens-Rubin of The Blake School have been named recipients of this year's Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team award for Class A Girls' Hockey. The award recognizes student athletes who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship, team commitment, athletic ability and leadership during the state high school tournaments. Athletes are selected to the Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team by a panel of coaches attending the tournament. Twelve awards are presented in Class A Girls' Hockey.
Bear's goalie Rachel Bowens-Rubin stopped 57 of 59 shots during the State Tournament. In the tournament's opening round Bowens-Rubin shut out Tri-Metro conference rival Breck for the third time this season and allowed 1 goal in each for the following contests. Rachel is currently undecided concerning her collegiate future however she is leaning toward MIT.
Sophomore right wing Margaret Chute netted 3 points for the Bears during the state tournament. Margaret tallied a goal and an assist against Breck, and a goal against Farmington. Margaret ranked second in goals scored on The Blake School squad as she scored 29 goals for the season and was third in assists with 25 putting her second, to older sister Katharine, for the Bear's 2007 point leader.
Senior Katharine Chute was the third Blake Bear named to the Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team. As during the regular season Katharine lead the Bears in every offensive category during the tournament. The senior Chute picked up 6 points in the three games on 2 goals and 4 assists. Though still undecided, Katharine has narrowed her post-secondary options to Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth.
