The Blake girls’ hockey team is one of the early season favorites to win the Class A state title and for good reason.
The Bears return 13 letter winners, including two All-State selections from last year.
Senior Berit Johnson is one of the returning All-State players and the Bears’ leading returning scorer from last year.
Katherine Chute also returns after being named All-State. Senior captains Clare Zutz and Alyssa Saunders were named All-Conference and All-Conference honorable mention, respectively, last season.
Other returning players who will make strong contributions include senior captain Molly Stankovsky, Sydney Robbins, Laura Mazer, Georgie Stocks, Betsy Schnieder, Sally Komarek and Julia Heffelfinger.
Newcomers who should make an impact this season include Rachel Bowens-Ruben, Samantha Butters, Sarah Cole, Katie Dasburg and Hillary Hayssen.
The Bears will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 25, when they travel to Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
