The Blake School senior Nick Lebedoff has committed to attend Williams College and play tennis, as an Eph. Williams is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college located in Williamstown, Massachusetts. 2000 students choose from 30 majors in 24 departments
As of 2005, the school has an enrollment of 1945 undergraduate students and 59 graduate students
Lebedoff is the defending Minnesota Class A individual singles champion and has been a outstanding member of The Blake School's varsity squad since he was an eighth grader, Nick has helped the Bears to the Minnesota State High School Tennis Tournament in each of those years.
Nick is very excited about his college choice, "It has always been a dream of mine to both go to a great school and be a part of an elite tennis program, and at Williams I will be able to do both. Williams is one of the top division III tennis teams in the country."
Bear's head coach Ted Warner says of Lebedoff, "Nick has been a tremendous leader on and off the court for Blake and will been a great addition to Williams. They are getting a great tennis player but more importantly a great person and future leader."
Williams is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The NESCAC is an NCAA Division IIII athletic conference consisting of highly selective liberal arts colleges located in New England and New York. Most of the colleges have been competing against each other since the 1800s. The colleges in this conference are often referred to as the "Little Ivies".
For nine consecutive years Dave Johnson has directed his Williams men's tennis team to at least an appearance in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament and this year should be no different with an experienced, tournament-tested lineup returning.
Williams has had tremendous success winning the NACDA Director's Cup, an annual award that is presented to the institution within each NCAA division that has the greatest overall success in NCAA sanctioned championships. Williams has won the Director's Cup nine of the ten years since its inception, including seven years in a row through 2005.
