2004-2005 Boys' Swimming and Diving Preview

The 2004-2005 combined swimming and diving team of Blake/Breck looks forward to another thrilling season. Last year the team accumulated a 5-3 dual meet record and made its most successful appearance in years at the Minnesota State Class A swimming and diving meet. The section 2A champion team took fourth place out of 34 high schools in the state meet while setting four team record times.
After graduating many of the top performers, the team will be looking towards the many younger athletes to develop into well-needed roles. Returning All-State athletes are captain Erik Witzel and Colin McCarthy. The major challenges for the team outlined by coach Rosenberg include: replacement of key relay personnel, skill development among the younger athletes and maintaining state rank.
Entering his third year with the Blake/Breck swimming and diving program, Kris Rosenberg has experienced many team accomplishments. The team has compiled a 13-4 dual meet record, one section championship, and has been consistently ranked in the top 10 in the state. Returning, as diving coach is Patrick Mahony who is looking for an enjoyable season. New to the team this year is coach Martha Ortman, a former collegiate swimmer and coach.
