Dooley Commits to Haverford College

Matt DooleyThe Blake School senior, All American Matt Dooley has committed to attend Haverford College and play lacrosse for the Fords. Haverford College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college located in Haverford, PA. The college is known for its academic excellence and is consistently rated as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.

Haverford is a member of the Centennial Conference, an NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic conference. The Centennial Conference encourages athletic competition among national liberal arts colleges and universities that share similar academic aspirations and a commitment to the importance of the total educational experience of students engaged in sports. Current members include Dickinson College, Franklin & Marshall College, Gettysburg College, Haverford College, McDaniel College, Muhlenberg College, Swarthmore College, Ursinus College, Washington College.

Head coach Mike Murphy leads Haverford College. Murphy came to the Fords in August 2002 after serving as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania.

In recent years Haverford’s men’s lacrosse program has experienced growing success. Going into the 2006 season Murphy has notched a 22-20 career record and the Fords are off to a 9-3 (5-0 in conference) start this spring.
