2008 Boys' Golf Preview

Bruce "Arch" Archibald says this will be a rebuilding year, as he lost 3 seniors to graduation. The Bears varsity boys' golf coach and math teacher is in his 37th year as a Blake School teacher and coach, and 34th in the golf program. Coach Archibald is hoping the three players returning have all continued to improve their games. Two of the returning players are captains, Jack Barnes and Bobby Graiziger. Jack is a senior and this will be his 4th year on the varsity. Jack was All-Conference his freshmen, sophomore and junior years. Jack will be attending West Point next year. Bobby is also a senior and this will also be his 3rd year on the varsity. Bobby was All-Conference Honorable Mention last year. Bobby will be attending the University of Denver next year. Also returning is junior Alex Pepski for his third year on the varsity. Alex was also All-Conference last year. These three golfers all have terrific games and their scores will most likely be the nucleus of our successes this year.

Four other athletes have joined these returning players to help make this spring successful for the Boys' Golf team. The four golfers are seniors Sean McMahon and Robby Gagne, junior Aaron Lenz, and sophomore Cameron Falvey. There will also be two eigth graders that will be gaining experience on the golf course this year; Robert Blease and John Daniels.

Head coach Bruce Archibald who was the 2001 Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Boys' Class A Golf Coach of the Year is again delighted to call Minikahda the varsity's home course.
