Girls:
Good season but with some unexpected setbacks at State Qualifier. Maisie Ide, Janet Davido, Caroline Gagne, Ronni Peterson, Maggie Scholz, Hayden Broberg competed in sectional race. Maisie Ide, Caroline Gagner, and Hayden Broberg all have solid two runs. Great core for next season and beyond by adding Perrin Burke, who had a third place finish in JV Championships.

Team made every effort to rally against Visitation and Minnehaha Academy. Maisie and Perrin came from training in LaCrosse to compete. Weaving club with high school program, Maisie, Perrin, and Caroline are finding a balance with academics and athletics skiing club as well as Blake team.

New Section competitive alignment may serve them well as current competition comes from girls' teams that will no longer be in Section 5 for at least two years. There will certainly be other on snow challenges and new teams to consider, but the girls are up to the challenge. I know they can do it.

Boys:
Outstanding season for the boys' team with a talented and experience core returning from last year's state title. Pre-season injury caused concern, but was never a distraction from repeating as state champions. Jason Briggs led the team with points, and had the best two runs of his career at the state meet. Marc Massie performed evenly throughout the season and was always there with a consistent effort. Ariel Prozumenshikov, Arseny Pekerovsky, and Richie Perkins was all supportive and contributed to the overall success of the season. Michael Ankeny was in first palce after the first run of the team race. He fell and quickly "hiked" to finish the course. Combined with Marc Massie's second place overall finish, Peter Ankeny's 5th place finish and Jason Briggs 10th place finish and a 15th place finish for Michael the boys team won its second consecutive state title.

Michael finished as the Minnesota State Individual Boys Champion, Blake's fourth such title (Doug Tengdin,Ted Thiss, Andy Pennock) Marc Massie was on the podium in third place and Peter Ankeny was 6th in the individual portion of the state meet.

Michael went on the finish first in slalom and second in giant slalom at the USSA-Junior 2 National Championships held at Mt. Bachelor, Oregon. Teammate Marc Massie finished 11th at the same event. Currently Michael Ankeny in ranked 2nd in his age group in the world and has earned the right to compete in the U.S. Nationals, being held in Alyeska, Alaska, March 27-April 3, 2007
