Thanks Lee Vaughan!

After two dedicated years of service, Lee Vaughan is moving on from coordinating the Blake Booster "Bearware" store. Since March 2006, Lee has spent several hours each week selecting new athletic and booster apparel and selling it to the Blake community. Lee said, "My favorite thing about this job is the friends that you get to work with. There are plenty of laughs, and just as much fun are the staff and kids at Blake. They all want to promote Blake spirit and always have clever input about how to do it." Lee has not done this all alone, but has several key volunteers that have helped in the areas of billing, ordering, and selling. Bearware is typically sold at homecoming, conferences, the holiday boutique, Olympic day, and other special events. When you purchase an item from Bearware you are not only promoting Blake in the community, but all of the proceeds are funneled back into the school by the Blake Boosters and are used to support athletics and the arts. Lee said, "I have a new appreciation when I am at school for how hard everyone works here; staff, teachers, administration, maintenance, and security. We are really lucky at Blake. It's a very cool school. I have loved seeing the inner workings of Blake." We will miss you Lee!
The Blake Boosters are now interested in finding a new coordinator for Bearware. Lee says, "It's like running your own retail store. It's great fun if you like being creative." If you are interested, please contact Booster President Mike Fink.
