Student Services Mission Statement and Goals
Mission: Blake Student Services Department promotes and embraces an environment that is supportive and safe for all. The Counselors and Learning Specialists nurture personal growth, wellness and self-awareness so students can participate effectively in an academically rigorous and challenging environment. Student Services is committed to strengthening the working relationships between students, faculty and families. Student Services understands and celebrates learning styles, diverse personal and cultural backgrounds and encourages all within the Blake Community to reach their full potential.

Goals – Learning Specialists:
    * Enhance the community’s awareness and understanding of learning differences and disabilities.

    * Optimize students’ skill set allowing them to achieve their full potential within the Blake School curriculum

    * Demystify learning styles with individual students and train them to develop self-advocacy skills to support their learning style.

Goals - Counselors:
    * Enhance the Blake School curriculum by providing opportunities for social/emotional learning and development.

    * Support students and faculty on all three campuses through daily interaction and guidance.

    * Foster an environment committed to moral integrity and emotional well-being

    * Advocate for the best interest of the students while teaching self-advocacy skills.
