Vines
Black and White Silver Print

For this shoot we learned how to implement the rule of thirds. I went to the greenhouse near the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to shoot my rule of thirds project, and found this vine that wrapped up thin glass poles that were hanging from the ceiling. This vine was a strong vertical so I focused in on it. As you can see, the vine on the left is in critical focus while the rest of the photograph, the background of the green house, is a blur. This enhances the emphasis on the vine as the hot spot. The leaves on the vine sort of blend in with the ones in the plants that are sitting on the ground, but as your eyes go up to the top of the vine it is in focus.
