Inequalities
Black and White Silver Print
The photograph, Inequalities, is the first photograph that I have produced. The image is of a birdfeeder that I have in my backyard. I originally took two shots of the birdfeeder and I chose this one because this photograph had a different angle on it. In the photograph, the viewer looks up at the birdfeeder as opposed to looking straight at it. After carefully considering what was in the photograph, I found something very interesting. At the angle the photograph was taken, it makes the feeder on the left seem higher than the one on the right. This would suggest that if the birdfeeder could be looked at as a scale, the one on the left would be lighter than the one on the right. The interesting part of this is that the one on the left is half full while the one on the right is empty, which makes it seem like the one of the left would realistically be lighter. The process of this first, "Pre-Instruction", photograph was long but very rewarding and our whole class learned a lot from it.
