New York Times
Photogram: Black and White Silver Print

When I was working on this photogram I focused on using the comics and jokes in the New York Times to create a work of art. I chose to do this because a lot of my art is serious and I wanted to make a photogram that made people smile. To do this print I cut the comics out of the magazine and made them into a film negative using the printer in the library. After this I used an enlarger in the photo lab and placed a piece of photographic paper under the light while it was off. I placed the film negatives of the comics on top of the paper and exposed it to the light. I found out after I did this that I had over exposed it and the whole piece of paper was black. I did it again and this time it had a good amount of contrast between black and white.
