The Color Range
Black and White Silver Print

To take this shoot, we took a trip to uptown and took pictures without looking through the view finder. This picture, unlike many on my roll, was level. To take this picture, I had to go into the MAC store and ask permission from the employers who said I could take pictures inside their store and were genuinely interested in what we were doing. All of the different shades of the eye shadow featured in the print display the entire tonal range from the very light to the very dark. On the glass covers of the eye shadow that are tilted back, one can see reflections of the sunlight, and other unidentifiable objects from the outside world. Since I was not looking through the viewfinder when I took this picture, this was something I noticed only after I saw the print. Finding things like this is what makes hip shoots surprising and exciting.
