A Change is Gonna Come

When I was thinking of themes for my photogram I decided I wanted to focus on a topic that was very personal to me, change. Change is constant not only for me but for everyone. In the image, I added commonly known symbols of change: a candle and a calendar. I personalized the image by adding a few things that I personally thought represented change: coins, a mobius strip, and the year 2007 on the calendar, which represents the biggest year of change in my life. I layered a transparent calendar with the actual paper copy because I wanted to show the same year from two different perspectives. I exposed the image to light intensity F11 for ten seconds. My favorite part of the finished picture is the way the two calendars blend together in some parts of the image because it shows the two different perspectives when they overlap and are on their own.
